Our third season has been postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19. When circumstances change we will provide an update.

As Dr Bonnie Henry has said many times “Be kind, be calm and be safe”.

Welcome paddlers, to the 2020 Dragon Boat Season.
We are happy to tell you the GDBC has an agreement with Silva Bay Resort and Marina to moor the boat this season at their dock at no charge.
This season we are fortunate to have back as our coaches Jane, Jo (and for some leisure paddles, Connie). Further, we welcome coach Andrea Keenan who is on the Island part time and brings a wealth of coaching and competing experience. Lorna and Ray will help as our Steer, some of you have indicated you want to also learn to steer.

The GDBC executive board have met done some preliminary planning so please mark down the the following dates:

1. BOAT LAUNCH Saturday April 4, 2020 at 11:00am. Meet at the boat at the back of the Smith’s property beside Silva Bay.
   We will move the boat onto a proper boat trailer and it will be towed to Cooper in Degnen Bay launched and Fran’s husband will pull by boat to Silva Bay. Needed some help with moving, launching and paddle assistance for the journey.
2. This Year a formal season end wrap up party will be held at the Golf course on Wednesday October 14,2020 starting at 5:00pm, dinner begins at 6:00pm. Mark your calendar. The weather will dictate how long we will paddle into October.
3. GDBC Annual General Meeting
   Wednesday May 13, 2020 at 5:30pm at the Picnic Tables Silva Bay, then we enjoy a leisure paddle in the bay. I will be sending formal Board and Committee terms of reference for the members to read before hand.
